If you have checked lately my Instagram (link) you probably have seen that I spent the last weekend in Berlin. To be honest, the weather was terrible. Rainy, windy and really cold. However, thanks to Vienna House Andel´s Berlin, where we stayed, we had a fantastic experience full of great memories from our weekend trip.

The hotel is located just 10 minutes away by tram from Alexanderplatz, so it's a perfect location for staying close to the city center and away enough to avoid crowds and tourists. Plus, since the hotel offers dozens of benefits as restaurants, meeting rooms, gym, spa, and the incredible SkyBar, it would not be convenient to be right in the center.
As usual, I will explain and tell you my experience in the most important aspects we have to consider when we talk about hotels.
Service
The service was excellent since we stepped in. The crew from front desk was even joking with us about weather. As I said, weather was terrible that weekend. When we arrived to Vienna house with all the luggage and totally soaked, the crew from the front office welcomed us with a big smile and asking us: "Amazing weather outside, right?" We had to laugh.
Later on that day, when we were having a drink at Skybar, the waiter joked with me a couple of times since I was changing table every ten minutes to get different pictures of the views. Always friendly, but most important, always professional.
Breakfast and dinner
We went one evening to Mavericks restaurant located right in the hotel. We specially liked (apart from the food) nice and relaxed atmosphere there. The theme of the restaurant is to get you in a mood of Californian restaurant with surfing vibes. All decoration and design are matching that concept and idea. The menu is based on a few dishes, so making a choice is quite easy, and that's the idea. No complications, no dress code, just the perfect restaurant to have a relaxed and informal lunch or dinner. But do not get me wrong, the food is super tasty and of a good quality. I had "surf and turf" highly recommended since lobster was delicious and veal cooked perfectly. Lucie had rib eye with sweet potatoes fries and it was also delicious! As I said before, if you want easy and super tasty food with a nice atmosphere, just go to Maveriks. You will not be disappointed for sure. I would recommend you to make a reservation since the hotel is quite big and there is usually a lot of people going there from and outside the hotel.

Regarding the breakfast...incredible! For Lucie and I, breakfast is the meal we like the most and the breakfast at the Andel´s Berlin was a present of gods. They offer salmon, Spanish jamón serrano, a diverse variety and assortment of cheese and bread, natural yogurts, eggs, bacon, natural honey etc.
By the way, there is a small detail than can help you distinguish a good hotel from a superior hotel. If they provide fresh squeezed juice for breakfast, it means that the hotel takes a good care of its guests. Trust me, I worked in a hotel. You can also order the room service and enjoy the breakfast in bed which is a great experience to have. Only for 5 euro extra per room.
Sky Bar
This is obviously one thing that makes a difference from the rest of hotels, and that´s why I put it separately. Because where else can you enjoy a cocktail on the 14th floor with spectacular views of Berlin?
But Sky Bar is not only about the views which are fantastic. No. It also offers probably the most original list of cocktails to choose from and very well and nice presented. If you are not sure, just ask the bar tender and they will advise you about the perfect cocktail for your taste related to the mood you are in. The comfy chairs and sofas make you feel relaxed and wiling to have a nice and relax chat. The music in the background just add the perfect touch. We went there the first night to have a drink and the second night we decided to repeat it and go again!
Rooms
The rooms have a modern design with a luxury touch. They are quite generous regarding the size and some of them provide a separation between sleeping area and lounge for more comfort. This was our case. We liked very much the welcome gift we received, including snacks and fresh and homemade lemonade! Toilet was really big with shower and bathtub and included all the necessary amenities we could ask for. But like the saying "better a picture than a 1000 words" here you have some of the pics from our room.
Our room included as well an access to the lounge, a reserved spot where you can enjoy delicious breakfast, afternoon tea, "after-work" hour with hot & cold snacks and wine served from 6.00 pm, selection of newspapers & magazines and Imac surfing station. Although we could not enjoy spa and gym because of the lack of time, we recommend it as we saw great reviews on Tripadvisor, especially if you are staying for a business trip. As you might know already, I do business trips with my 9-5 job and they are quite exhausting sometimes, so nothing better than resting a bit in a spa after all the meetings.
To sum it up, Vienna House Andel´s Berlin can offer you a personal experience according to your needs and type of stay (business, holiday, relax, food) since its restaurants, bars, spa, and lounge make the hotel a complete experience itself.
